Below are some outline sketches for the new Speed7 force feedback steering control system. Up to now a lot of work has gone into designing the control systems and we are now at the stage of finalising the external appearance of the system. The pictures below should be a good representation of what the final product will look like generally. We will publish more detailed images as they are available over the coming weeks and months.

As mentioned in our December 2003 information release, the basic specifications for the system are as follows:

• The latest force feedback technology

• High quality motor

• Multi turn steering that can be set up to suit whatever type of driving simulation

• you use

• Custom designed steering wheel

• Up to 16 separate button functions on the wheel*

• Function selector switch on wheel to give multiple programmable button functions, a 5 way function selector switch will effectively give 80 separate button functions on the wheel*

• Independent gear lever paddles

• Independent hand clutch paddles

• New solid desk clamping arrangement

We will release initally two steering versions. One will be a sports car style and the other an F1 style wheel. Both wheels will come in two specifications, an entry level and advanced level. The main difference between the levels will be the addition of the LCD screen in the advanced model but the specifications will be detailed in further information releases.

*The number of buttons will vary between models and levels. The minimum buttons on any model will be 8 plus two gear change switches with a 5 way function selector giving up to 50 separate button functions.
