In the spirit of Grand Prix Legends we have developed a truly authentic simulator. Having been given unprecedented access to an actual 1967 Lotus 49 race car we were able to prepare fibreglass moulds which are accurate to the last rivet. It is now possible for you to own an authentic replica of one of the defining racecars of the last century. Not only a show car to admire (which people will) but also a truly interactive and exciting simulator, which combined with the definitive simulation software, will give you a unique experience.
The pictures show the front-end section of the car, which is available for purchase now and incorporates the following features:
-
Authentic tub and Nosecone in authentic livery made in fibreglass
-
12" Red leather steering wheel (authentic styling)
-
Quick release steering wheel to aid access
-
3 pedal assembly (accelerator/brake/clutch)
-
The steering and pedals are based on our proven BRD Sim Quick release controls.
-
(Force feedback option available)
-
Pedals that are adjustable electrically at the press of a button
-
Fully authentic front suspension and uprights in cast aluminium from original parts.
-
Full in car sound system
-
Authentic leather look seat
-
Wheels and tyres
-
Full replica Cosworth DFV engine (optional)
The gear change is currently on the steering using a modern F1 style gear lever however we are currently developing an authentic gear change mechanism to fit inside the car in the correct position. This will replicate that of the real car.
We have access to all the parts necessary to recreate the rear end of the car, so if you would like a full rolling chassis then please contact us for pricing and delivery schedules.
This simulator is to our knowledge the only one of its kind and we believe one of the more sophisticated available of any sort. The first prototype was first run out at the 1999 Goodwood Festival of Speed and attracted a great deal of attention and was mistaken on a number of occasions (by people who ought to know better- quote by L49 owner) for being a real chassis!
Dimensions
The simulator measures (L) 2.7m (3.3m with engine) x (W) 1.7m x (H) 0.75m
